SWOT analysis will help us to plan for
growth and sustainability of our fitness centre. This analysis involves laying
out our organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
STRENGTHS
o We excel in excellent quality of equipment.
o Our staffs have up to date certificates.
o The introduction of exercise science education list has proved to be great importance.
o The required amount of exercise equipment can fulfil the demand.
o Well trained staff
o Our fitness centre is in a prime location.
WEAKNESSES
o Since the number of equipment is high, so maintenance is a major problem.
o Lack of participation of high socio-economic class.
o Lack of funding for improvement is as a problem.
o Even limited space of parking during peak busy times.
o Personal lockers are not yet installed.
o We lack personal trainers to cope with the high percentage of custiomers because number of customer is high.
OPPORTUNITIES
o Based on the needs of local customers a section of the gym can be converted into a family oriented gym.
o Plan to upgrade the services with advancement in technology.
o In our society people are health conscious which include an opportunity to gain more members to our fitness centre.
o Also increase in customer income a celebrity trainer
o Group activities and aerobics can create positive perception of our gym.
THREATS
o Internal threats in the future can be the high staff turnover and unmotivated instructor.
o Deteriorating facilities and lack of funding can be another internal threat.
o External threats may include customer’s decreased interest in fitness and the perception that getting into shape is impossible.
o Due to a lack of outdoor space less focus on outdoor facilities.
o Other factors may include the lack of affordable equipment suppliers.
